FAQs
-
I offer psychotherapy to individuals and couples aged 18 and over.
-
My approach is relational and integrative. This means I pay attention not only to the difficulties bringing you to therapy, but also to the patterns, experiences and relationships that may sit beneath them. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I adapt the work to the needs of each individual or couple.
-
I work with a range of emotional and relational difficulties, including anxiety, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, trauma, grief, emotional overwhelm, identity and life transitions, and experiences rooted in childhood or attachment patterns.
-
No. Many people come to therapy without a diagnosis. You may be experiencing anxiety, relationship difficulties, low mood, overwhelm, a sense of feeling stuck, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply. Therapy is not only for times of crisis.
-
Yes. I offer online psychotherapy sessions for individuals and couples, as well as in-person sessions in Hadley Wood, Barnet, North London.
-
The introductory session is an opportunity for us to meet and explore what has brought you to therapy, as well as what you may be hoping for from the process. Individuals and couples are invited to talk about any concerns, difficulties, or relational dynamics they would like support with, and to ask any questions they may have about therapy or the way I work.
The session also offers us an opportunity to consider whether we feel able to work together therapeutically. All introductory sessions are held online, during which we can also discuss whether ongoing sessions would feel most suitable online or in person.
Beginning therapy can evoke a range of emotions, particularly when speaking about difficult or personal experiences for the first time. I aim to offer a grounded, thoughtful, and supportive space where this process can begin at a pace that feels manageable.
-
Individual therapy sessions last 50 minutes, and couples therapy sessions last 60 minutes. Initial consultations are longer and usually last 90 minutes.
-
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You do not need to be in crisis to seek therapy. Some people come with a specific difficulty, while others may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or wanting to better understand themselves and their relationships.
-
We will meet for a minimum of one session per week at a regular agreed time. More frequent sessions can also be arranged where appropriate.
-
I offer open-ended therapy rather than working to a fixed timeframe. The length of therapy will depend on your individual needs and the nature of the work we are doing together, and this can be reviewed as therapy progresses.
-
Therapy sessions are confidential. There are some legal and ethical exceptions to confidentiality, which would be discussed during the initial consultation.
-
All enquiries and personal information are handled confidentially and in accordance with GDPR and data protection requirements. I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
